There are quite a number of easily worn parts in the metallurgical sector, such as mill rolls and cutting edges. For example, mill rolls can be generally divided into cold rolls and hot rolls in accordance with use under different working conditions. During rolling process, the contacting part between mill rolls and rolled metal is easily worn and torn, which results in size out of tolerance and necessary roll changing. For this reason, different kinds of techniques have been undertaken to repair or increase the service life of mill rolls. Among the common approaches are quenching, overlaying welding, hot spraying and spray welding.
