Maintenance
AttentionTo avoid damage, the laser system must be maintained by specialist who has accepted special training.
To keep the laser system runs well, please maintain the system after a continuous running of 2 weeks or when the system have not been used for a long time. Before running the system, please first check the YAG, lens etc. optical components and make sure there is no dust pollution, mildew etc abnormal looks. If there is the phenomenon above, please do deal with it to avoid damage. (If the operating condition is very clean, the checking period can be a little longer)
1) Pure water is the key factor affecting the laser output efficiency which also affect the focus cavity life, please check its conductance every week, make sure the conductance³0.5MWcm. The prepared waters conductance³2MWcm. Please do always watch the color of ion exchanging column in cooling system, change the colophony in case its color become deep brown or black.
2) System operator can check the spot with black photo film, once the spot is bad-proportioned or the laser energy become lower please adjust the resonator, so as to keep the beam quality.

Adjustment of Resonator:
Warning: The laser system belongs to laser protection class 4, the irradiation can cause skin burns, eye injuries and even blind. Operator of the system is obliged to care for all necessary safety precautions and wear special laser protective glasses.
Attention: When laser worked on woods etc flammable materials there will be burning, please do place a black metal on laser focus area to avoid fire accident.
Attention: The adjustment of laser must be carried out by trained specialist, or else there will be damage on optical components made by abnormal laser adjustment.
1. Checking laser:
Red semiconductor laser is the reference of the whole optical system, do make sure its veracity. Use a simple altimeter to see if the red light is paralleled with the optical navigation track and is right between the two optical navigation tracks. If not, adjust it by the six bolt. At last, please check whether the bolts are tightened.
2. Adjustment of output lens (output media film):
Before the output lens adjustment, move the focus cavity away to avoid the accuracy error made by the YAGs refraction. The right position of output media film is that the red light is just in its center and can be reflected just to its shooting aperture. The position can be adjusted by the knob on its location shelf. After the adjustment please tighten the knob and check again.
3. Checking YAG Position
Paste transparent adhesive tape on both end of the YAG, check if the red light spot is in the center of the cannula; If not, please reposition it by adjusting the focus cavity. And then watch the reflected light from YAG, it should be superposed with the red light shooting aperture, or else, please reposition the focus cavity under the condition that the red light is in the center of the cannula so as to make the reflected light near to the shooting aperture, the warp must be limited to 1.5mm
4. Adjust Holophote ( Holophote Film)
First step: Check if the red light is in the center of the holophote film, or else, please reposition the film shelf installation position to make the red light in the center.
Second stepAdjust the knob on film shelf to make the red light reflected to shooting aperture.
Third step: Switch on the laser power, adjust the Voltage to about 380V,running mode: automatic, pulse width:2ms, repeating frequency: 1~5Hz. Push down the yellow Laser button to make pulsed Xenon light shinning. Now, put all-exposed black film before laser output lens and you can get laser, adjust the knob till the spot is very round and equal, then lower the power to 320V. Jiggle the knob , make the light focus on the center of the light spot
Fourth step: check if the laser is superposed on red light. Locate film in the front of the laser output lens, the far the better, shoot a laser pulse and watch if the spot center on film is superposed with the red light center; it not, jiggle the output lens and the holophote to fulfill it; locate the film at a distance about 800-1000mm to the output lens, recheck if the spot is superposed with the red light. If it is all well, the laser is in its best performance.
Fifth step: Locate every knob, recheck if the spot on film is good and in the same axis with red light. Or else, recheck it.
5. Check the shutter:
Turn the reflector shelf manually, push the shutter to keep light out, watch if the red light is in the center of the lens, and the reflected light is on the light-absorb cone in the middle of light terminator; if not, reposition it. At last, check if the shutter reflector is clear, polluted lens will blast during operating.
