Laser is short for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Einstein first put forward the concept of the stimulated radiation in 1916. And scientists invented the maser, which stands for Microwave Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation in 1954. A maser is basically a microwave version of the laser. Microwaves are a form of electromagnetic radiation similar to, but shorter than, radio waves. And then in 1858 it was applied to optical frequency range by scientists Schawlow and Townes. So until 1960 Theodore Maiman established the first working laser.

Our country has been attached great importance on laser technology from the start. Hosted by Wang Zhijiang, the first ruby laser was carried out successfully in China. In 1964, a celebrated physicist, Wang Ganchang put forward the preliminary theory of laser fusion, which opened a new way of China laser works. In 2003 the first fiber laser marking system in china was developed in HGLASER, and with the continuous version upgrading, it enters the dominant industry of national economy.

Now, laser has become an important equipment of industry, communication, science and electronic entertainment. It marks the development of new technology revolution. All kinds of laser machines have been launched sequentially. Such as laser marking machine, laser cutting machines, laser welding machines, laser micro processing, etc.

The prospect of the laser

Laser has the characteristics of good brightness, monochromaticity, coherence and penetrability. Since the beginning of laser, it's not hard to predict that its potential foreground is promising.
