Maintenance and Replacement of Laser Pointer

2014-04-23 Back to list

Maintenance Purpose

Wrong operations may cause damage of laser pointer, such as welding on high reflectivity mirror material. Therefore, the damaged laser pointer should be replaced so as to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.

Replacement Cycle

When the equipment has weakened light or no light caused by laser pointer damage, the laser pointer should be replaced.

Tools Required

Multimeter × 1
Laser protective glasses × 1
Internal hexagonal wrench × 1
Special fixture × 1
Observation mirror × 1

Attention

1) Drop the positive and negative voltages of energy storage tank capacitance below 5V before replacement;

2) Do not force hard while replacing, which may cause damage of laser pointer;

3) Wear protective glasses when adjusting.

Laser Pointer Replacement Procedure

Laser welding machine users or maintenance personnel must follow the maintenance methods strictly. Specific steps are as followings:

Step one: Quit welding system, turn the key switch and air switch successively to “OFF”, disconnect external power supply. When the positive and negative voltages of energy storage tank capacitance drop below 5V, open the upper cover of the case;

Step two: Loosen the screws, remove the seal pipe 5 and 6, remove the half reflection lens base and seal pipe 1, 2, 3, 4, as shown in Figure 1;

Step three: Open the side cover, pull out the laser pointer lightly from the arrow direction, as shown in Figure 2;

Step four: Remove the cover, junk ring and sealing ring with special fixture, as shown in Figure 3;

Step five: Install the cover, junk ring and sealing ring with special fixture, ensure that the cover is coaxial with junk ring, and the junk ring inserts about 6mm--7mm into laser pointer head face;

Step six: Insert the cover, junk ring and sealing ring from the withdrawing end lightly, keep the both ends equally long, as shown in Figure 4

Step seven: Install the sealing ring of pump cavity, lock the side end cover screws in both ends;

Step eight: Install seal pipe 3, 4 and half reflection lens base, wear protective glasses and readjust the light;

Step nine: After light readjustment, install seal pipe 1, 2, 5 and 6, tighten the locking screws of cover.
